A Horse Alliance - featuring The Broodmare Project
Can telling the stories of local horse enthusiasts and small-scale breeders save the equine industry? No. But I believe doing so can be a grassroots assist to regional clubs and breed organizations, because recognition matters.
The purpose of A Horse Alliance is to share as many human-horse stories as possible. I will publish them here and also offer them to local, regional, and national magazines and outlets for reprint (for free).
Any breed, all disciplines. Not in competition with, rather in support of breed associations, organizations, and other outlets.
The mission of The Broodmare Project is to find a way to feature and celebrate broodmares in a way similar to industry-recognition of stallions. In addition to publishing profiles here and sharing them along the way, my goal is to produce an annual digest or magazine or book. This is a massive project and will likely take on a life of its own along the way.
This undertaking is solely reader-supported through subscriptions. No ads. Your information will not be shared or sold.
I won’t be able to do this without your support, and I hope you’ll join me on this path forward. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly into your inbox, so you’re always up to date. The cost is $5 per month or $55 for the year, roughly the cost of one coffee drink a month. This gives you access to other articles, the archives, all my posts, and allows you to join the community.
If you aren’t in a position to afford a paid subscription right now (boy do I understand that!), there will be some free content available and you can still support the project by subscribing for free and sharing the word.
If you are able and would like to support this work as a Founding Supporter, you can do so at any amount greater than $55. In addition to full subscription benefits, an original digital portrait, recognition as a Founder in print, and quarterly founder-exclusive content, you will have my endless thanks for helping me realize a dream.
